Check out Music City Roots Radio where you can hear the complete concert performance of “An East Nashville Christmas” from Dec 19th at Music City Roots in Nashville. This was the final of four Christmas Concerts and Benefits for the National Health Care for the Homeless Council. Craig Havighurst is your host for this two hour syndicated radio program which begins airing today all over the country. It was a very special night. Thanks to all of the artists and musicians who participated to make this such a beautiful night.

An East Nashville Christmas takes the helm of the venerable weekly radio program,Bluegrass Underground, for the next two episodes to present the live performance of An East Nashville Christmas from Dec 8th at Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, TN. For those who have not ever been to a concert at the Volcano Room 333 feet underground, you haven’t lived yet. Here is part two, which will air Dec 22nd at 5pm CST on WSM-650AM, wsmonline.com, and many other syndicated affiliates. Thanks to Todd Mayo for the great opportunity to bring our show and his together for a great cause.

Check out this terrific review of our East Nashville Christmas project, and preview of our upcoming show at Music City Roots this Wednesday Dec 19th. Thanks Craig Havighurst for featuring us in his blog. It has been a real pleasure planning our show together with Craig and Todd Mayo. I’m grateful for the kind folks at Music City Roots and Bluegrass Underground for allowing us to partner with them and bring our show to their stage for one night. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store.

CD’s shipping same day

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be shipping all items purchased before 2pm on the same day of your purchase from now until Dec 22. If you live in the Nashville area, it takes one day so you will have it the next day. Dec 22 will be the last day to ship out if you want to have it before Christmas. We are able to do overnight shipping on any of these items if you are in a rush and/or need to have these shipped as a gift to anyone in the USA. For anyone who went to the record release party this past weekend at the Station Inn will know how amazing these two moments were. Kenny Vaughan Trio with Rod McGaha. I don’t think it has ever happened and certainly not at the Station Inn. Well, it’s going to happen again this upcoming week at the two Christmas Concerts (Five Spot and Music City Roots). You won’t want to miss this. Frosty and Rudolph, together again….just like back in the day. Take a listen and enjoy. Merry Christmas!

Tut is really excited about the CD’s. He thinks you should buy a couple of CD’s for all of your friends this Christmas. We have a special deal on 10 CD’s for $125. We are almost out of the original pressing we did. I know everyone loves free music, including me…..and you can stream it for free on the website, but purchasing the CD goes a long way towards helping out your fellow brothers and sisters in need. Plus you get 18 great songs and warm fuzzy feeling.

The T-Shirts are selling fast too. We only have about 75 left from our original order and I’m not sure we will print any more up before Christmas, so place your order now to make sure you get one. All the proceeds help the homeless, so it’s a win win for everyone.

In combination with the album’s release, there will be four Nashville-area Christmas Concerts & Benefits to raise much needed funding and important awareness for the homelessness issue in our country. All of the proceeds from these will benefit the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, based right here in East Nashville.

All four of these live concert performances of An East Nashville Christmas will feature many of the same 75 Artists & Musicians who participated in making the record. It’s sure to be a spirited evening of wonderful Christmas Music from Nashville’s finest.

The official release date was Tuesday Nov 13th and we are starting to sell quite a few CD’s. The downloads are available immediately after your purchase. The CD’s are shipping within a day or two after your purchase. We also just received the T-Shirts and Posters. Those will ship within a day or two after your purchase as well. All shipping/tax is included in the price. We know many are used to getting music for free and we encourage you to stream the album for free from our site, but please consider making a purchase from our online store. 100% of the proceeds are being donated to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council. We really need your help to spread the word and some holiday cheer this season. Tell your friends about what we are doing here.

You can find the CD locally in the Nashville area at Grimey’s, The Groove, Ernest Tubb’s (both locations), as well as Marche, East Side Story, and All Seasons.

The CD’s have been manufactured and are being shipped to us tomorrow, so we will be able to ship pre-orders a few weeks ahead of the official release date.

BR5-49 reunion with the original lineup

The legendary BR5-49 reunited with all five original members for the first time in a dozen years at PH Balanced Recordings to record A Truck Stop Christmas for our Christmas album. It was written specifically for this project by founding member Gary Bennett. The lyrics tell the story of a truck driver trying to make his way home for Christmas to be with his family and winds up being stranded at a truck stop on Christmas Eve due to a snowstorm closing down the highway. The original lineup reformed in the studio with a little push from Phil Harris and Don Herron to record a song for the project. This track documents their first recording together with the original lineup since 2001. Founded in 1993, the band originally comprised Gary Bennett (vocals, guitar), Don Herron (steel guitar, dobro, fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar), “Smilin’” Jay McDowell (upright bass), Chuck Mead (vocals, guitar), and “Hawk” Shaw Wilson (drums, vocals). BR5-49 has released 8 records, including three albums on Arista Nashville and two on Dualtone Records. The band’s self-titled debut album produced three singles on the Billboard Country charts in 1996. The band was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards. They may just be the best band to ever come out of Nashville. Long Live BR5-49.
